The village Sivas was characterised as a traditionally maintained settlement by the Ministry of Culture and for very good reasons. Taking a walk around the alleys, you will admire stone-built traditional houses which are excellently maintained in top condition, the stone-built school which adourns the village square and is dated back to the beginning of the 20th century as well as the hospitable aura of the habitants which bring to mind forgotten times and values.
Also, findings of archeological importance have been discovered around the village, some of which are displayed in the Museum of Heraklion.
Finally, the village Sivas is inhabitated by people with an ecological concience and the proof is the large biological cultivation of olive trees which are developing in the area.

For your food choices you can safely place yourselves in the hands of the village’s traditional taverns situated under the coolness of the trees, with their delicious Cretan delicacies. You can drink coffee in the traditional cafes and for you nightlife entertainment, the villages Matala and Kalamaki are only six and five kilometers away respectively, where you will find lovely bars next to the sea.

The most beautiful part of the beachKommos is located 4 km away while the beaches of Kalamaki and Matala are close by.
The canyon Agiofaraggo is ideal not only for afternoon walks and hiking through the wilderness, but for swimming in the amazing cove located at the end of the canyon as well. The beaches of Lentas are ideal for endless games on the waves and the village Zaros for mountainside walks alongside the lake surrounded by lushes green scenery and enjoying fresh trout. Last but not least, the village Aghia Galini is only 20 minutes away.
